I realize I just made a chili-like recipe, but this is for a vegetarian-ish friend and the air is perfect for chili! Sunny, crisp and 72! This is my favorite chili recipe of all time, from an old ww cookbook. Spicy Turkey Chili coming up, from copycatchef_ct 👩🏻🍳.
Ingredients:
7 Oz ground turkey
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 can light red kidney beans
1 cup, drained, canned Italian tomatoes, chopped
1/2 c each tomato sauce and water
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp each Worcestershire sauce and white wine vinegar
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp each salt and garlic powder
1/8 tsp each: cinnamon, allspice and crushed red pepper
Directions:
Spray 3 qt saucepan with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium high heat; add turkey and onion and crumble meat, cook, stirring occasionally until turkey is browned, about 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, including beans, and stir well to combine. Reduce heat to low and let simmer, stirring occasionally, until chili is thick, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving. Duh. 😉
